Photoshop Phriday: Chad Henne
Along with Mike Hart and a few others, Chad Henne was one of Michigan’s leaders and top players in 2007. His time at Michigan began in 2004 when as a true freshman he earned the starting QB job when injuries caused Lloyd Carr to look down the depth chart. He posted a strong junior year and his senior year after sitting out a few games because of injury (resulting in the brief lived Ryan Mallet era) returned to form. Henne’s last game he matched up against Heisman winner Tim Tebow and came out on top, throwing for 373 yards on 25 completions. Yours truly was in attendance to see the two touchdown underdog Wolverines pull out the win 41-35.
Henne’s stellar career earned him several places in the Michigan record books including most all time passing yards and touchdowns. Nowadays he is the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he can every now and again be seen passing or handing the ball off to Denard Robinson, allowing Michigan fans like myself to cackle with glee. Henne (along with Robinson) returns to the area tonight when the Jaguars play the Lions in a preseason game. Perhaps he’ll be up to old tricks and swap out the ball for his favorite baguette.
