Photoshop Phriday: Brennen Beyer
While the entire Michigan fanbase waits impatiently and clings to every scrap of information posted about the football coaching search, I wanted to highlight a few of the other seniors from this year’s team. Captains Devin Gardner and Jake Ryan have each already gotten the Photoshop Phriday treatment so this week we’ll take a look at outgoing defensive end Brennen Beyer. Beyer played in a remarkable 49 games at Michigan, also spending some time as a linebacker. His senior season was his best by far as he 35 tackles including 7.5 for a loss of yards.
Beyer was honored as the team’s top defensive lineman and received the Bob Ufer Award which is to the senior player who demonstrated the greatest love and enthusiasm for Michigan. On a team of presumably very devoted and motivated players that is quite an honor. And not to be overlooked, he did all this while earning himself a few Academic All Big selections. Beyer opened up the scoring against Iowa in 2013 with an interception return for a touchdown and his clear love for a whole wheat multigrain sandwich loaf puts him in good company with Gerald Ford and Tim Biakabutuka.
