Moving Day
Those of you who subscribe by email may have noticed several grammatical errors that snuck through last Friday’s post about Jon Falk. We moved over the weekend and though I proofread it a few times clearly my mind was elsewhere. This is the first time we’re living somewhere unfurnished so in addition to the normal moving chaos we are also in the process of finding furniture to fill the place.
Of course when moving is important to remember when to properly secure your valuables, like your Zoltan Mesko jersey. Our apartment served us well for three years but there are so many reasons why I’m excited to move. The kitchen is bigger but for now I am most looking forward to the significant upgrade in backyard.
Instead of a parking lot with a dumpster, we now have this behind our apartment. Living a block away you could technically have included Zingerman’s in our old backyard but we didn’t go far, we are now a whopping 9/10 mile away. By moving that 9/10 of a mile we’ve gained 60% more space, an extra bedroom, a kitchen with real counters, an actual pantry, and a dishwasher. Our old apartment also had a dishwasher – me.Now of course our old apartment wasn’t all bad, after all we did stay there for three years. It’s where we had pizza parties, bread parties, birthday parties, and never enough space for people to sit.
It’s where my wife and I lived when we got engaged, then married, and where we subsequently piled boxes of wedding gifts because we had no storage space.
It’s where I became a much better baker by churning out 83 different types of bread, 69 related photoshops, and 100 other posts. Last weekend I went out in style and spent almost all day with the oven turned on baking bread. Probably not ideal considering it was one of the hotter days of the summer. The last thing I made was a cherry bread pudding which you can read about in tomorrow’s #BreadBakers post. Thanks for following the past three years, stay tuned for more!
